Dr. Matavalam Hari Prasad is the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Samskruti College of Engineering and Technology. He possesses extensive academic, research, and administrative experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering and is dedicated to nurturing technically competent and socially responsible engineers.
He obtained his Ph.D. in Machine Design and has been actively involved in teaching, research, curriculum development, laboratory modernization, and industry-oriented learning initiatives. He is currently pursuing the Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) in Machine Learning at IIIT Raichur, integrating emerging technologies with conventional engineering education.
As the Head of the Department, Dr. Hari Prasad focuses on strengthening students' technical knowledge, practical skills, innovation capabilities, and employability through industry collaborations, project-based learning, internships, workshops, and research activities. Under his leadership, the department strives to create an environment that promotes academic excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning.
His research interests include Machine Design, Metamaterials, Acoustic Superlens Structures, Finite Element Analysis, Product Design, and Artificial Intelligence Applications in Mechanical Engineering. He has published research papers in reputed national and international journals and actively participates in faculty development and research-oriented programs.
